Quantum of Geek is a weblog written and published by Paul Beckford, with a focus on “geeky” interests such as Science, the Internet, computer technologies, and especially how those interests relate to personal life as a technology consumer, and in corporate life as as an IT professional.
Over the last dozen years, Paul has worked “hands-on” in IT Operations, deploying and supporting a multitude of technologies, such as Network Infrastructure, Windows and Linux servers, most Microsoft Back Office & Infrastructure applications, Virtual Computing, Mobile Computing and Information Security.
Throughout his career, Paul has held a number of different roles in IT Operations, such as Cryptologist, Network Administrator, Sr. Systems Administrator, Systems Operations Manager, and Consultant; while working for the US Navy, Raytheon (United States Antarctic program) and most recently, a leading medical device manufacturer in Colorado.
Paul holds a Masters of Business Administration, focused on Technology Management, and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer on Windows NT, 2000 & 2003.
